Matt is an experienced entrepreneur, business broker, and operator with a passion for legacy-driven business transitions. He co-leads the acquisition and operational strategy for Legatum Familiae, drawing from his own experience as a small business buyer and owner.
Mary Soldano
Co-Founder, SBA Lender & Business Broker
Mary is one of the top SBA 7(a) lenders in the nation, having successfully financed over 100 small business acquisitions across the country. With a deep understanding of how access to capital creates opportunity, she helps entrepreneurs secure funding through the SBA 7(a) program at Truliant Federal Credit Union.
In addition to her lending expertise, Mary is also a member of First Choice Business Brokers, where she plays a key role in guiding business owners through the transition of ownership—helping them pass on their legacy to the next generation of entrepreneurs

Margie brings decades of experience in strategic planning, hospitality management, and operational leadership to the team. Margie’s work centers on helping families, business owners, and buyers think long-term, guiding them through both the exit and entry points of ownership with vision and clarity.
Shem Doupe
Shem is a national SBA 7(a) lending expert with a focus on Mergers and Acquisitions. Having created and sold a successful startup, Shem has first-hand knowledge and experience of what it takes to own, operate, and sell a business. Shem leverages his deep understanding of business ownership combined with his knowledge of the SBA 7(a) loan program to help entrepreneurs in a unique way.
Matt Jefferys
Matt is a financial consultant with a background in corporate finance and small business operations. After leading audits and managing international contracts at Dow Jones, he now helps entrepreneurs secure funding, analyze acquisitions, and build sustainable business structures. As a small business owner himself, he brings practical insight to every client engagement.
